[WATCH] 'Witcher': Netflix Trailer Arrives With Premiere Date

Netflix gave fans a brief preview of the series, which stars Justice League's Henry Cavill, in a thrilling trailer on Thursday. Will you be checking out the adventures of Geralt and friends when they come galloping onto a small screen near you? Typically a loner who kills for money, Geralt becomes wrapped up in a battle between kingdoms as the young Princess Ciri (Freya Allan) searches for his help. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a risky secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.

The series of novels, starting back in 1992, spawned a popular video game series, but showrunner Lauren Hissrich confirmed that the show will focus on the books and not the games. This new trailer debuted between panels at the Lucca Comics & Games 2019 convention. Cavill's Geralt does the same in the TV drama and there will be no complaints here.

But, what if humans are actually more evil than the monsters themselves?

The Witcher is an eight-episode adaptation of the bestselling medieval book series by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. The new series will introduce at least one characters who wasn't in the original books or games and who has yet to be seen. As Ciri is a key player in a world full of political subterfuge and war, Geralt must go to great lengths to protect her. But will they make it till the end?
