Uganda deports South African singer Yvonne Chaka Chaka

The Umqombothi hitmaker was expected to perform at the Buganda Kingdom's Enkuuka Y'Omwaka - New Year's Eve party. But this was cancelled at the eleventh hour.

However, it is believed that the praises heaped on Wine, who is already in government's bad books, earned her the deportation.

Own Correspondent|There are some odd aspects to the hasty departure of South African singer Yvonne Chaka Chaka from Uganda on New Year's Eve.

In fact, Enanga said that at Entebbe International Airport, Chaka Chaka boarded her next immediate flight to South Africa via Kigali jetting out of the country at 4:15pm.

According to the police, Chaka Chaka entered the country with an ordinary visa which was cancelled by immigration officials after it was realised she had come to perform in one of the new year events.

Enanga said, "The ordinary visa can not enable her perform in any income-generating activity within the country".

According to Fred Enanga, the singer was sent back to South Africa because the immigration officials want to maintain the integrity of immigration rules for all the visitors in the country.

"He did not invite her directly, she was invited by Abitex Promotions who have also organised a number of Mr Kyagulanyi's (Bobi Wine) concerts, but you know she is a good friend", he said.

South Africa music legend Yvonne Chaka Chaka has been deported out of Uganda on account on lack of a visa.

As we held this short conversation while assessing how the situation was, a three-star police officer came from the back towards us.

First, it was rumors that she had been deported from Uganda because of her affiliations to Bobi Wine who is an opposition stronghold.

Reports indicate that Chaka Chaka's hotel was raided by several security authorities on Tuesday morning and ordered to leave.

President Museveni is seeking a sixth term in office in 2021 after being in power for 33 years.

Meanwhile, two months ago, Briefly.co.za reported that it's not often that we see a couple reach an incredible milestone like 30 years of marriage in today's world, which is why an occasion like this was really special to legendary veteran singer, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, and her hubby, Dr Mandlalele Mhinga.

She however didn't reveal where she had recorded the video from.
