Rush Drummer Neil Peart Dead at 67 from Brain Cancer

We're sad to report that Neil Peart, the drummer of the band Rush, is dead at the age of 67.

Peart died on Tuesday in Santa Monica, Calif., after battling brain cancer, family spokesperson Elliot Mintz said in a statement obtained by CBC News.

Among the most admired drummers in rock music, Peart was famous for his massive drum kits - more than 40 different drums were not out of the norm - precise playing style and onstage showmanship.

Tragic news for rock fans today, Neil Peart, the legendary drummer of Rush passed away earlier this week.

Peart first picked up drummer at 13 years old.

"He was one of the goofiest-looking guys I'd ever seen ..."

Rush released 19 studio albums, selling over 40m units worldwide.

"I feel real bad about this - he was way too young", Brian Wilson also tweeted.

Peart was easily one of the greatest drummers of all time, and his drumkit was that of legend, nearly to comedic effect.

In 2009, he and Nuttall celebrated the birth of their daughter, Olivia.
