According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Knicks plan to hire player agent Leon Rose to replace Steve Mills, who was sacked earlier this week. Masai Ujiri, the Toronto Raptors team president, has always been rumored to be a target for Dolan to fulfill the same role for the Knicks.

The Golden State Warriors have recently appeared in three NBA Finals, winning three, under president Bob Myers, another former agent who played collegiately at UCLA. Among the players he has represented at some point in his career reads a like a who's who: Allen Iverson, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Joel Embiid, Karl-Anthony Towns and Chris Paul.

Since Mills rejoined the Knicks in 2013, the franchise is 178-365, the worst record in the National Basketball Association, according to ESPN Stats & Information.

"It has been a great honor to represent the Knicks", Mills said in a statement. 'When the spotlight is on the owner in a negative way he always reacts.

Before 13-time NBA champion Phil Jackson took over basketball operations for the Knicks in 2014, he "vowed to relinquish the team's close ties" with the prominent agency.

Their top choice to replace him?

General manager Scott Perry will oversee the Knicks' basketball operations on an interim basis, according to the team.
