During Iowa Caucuses Bloomberg Campaigns in California

Democratic presidential candidate and former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg campaigns in El Paso Texas

He trails front-runners Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders, who competed on Monday in Iowa's caucuses, the traditional kickoff to the presidential nominating contest.

Instead of spending Monday in the Hawkeye State, Bloomberg traveled across California.

In September of 2010, GoLocal reported Bloomberg's endorsement of then-independent candidate for Governor Lincoln Chafee. The decision to skip Iowa, with its 41 pledged delegates, looked prescient Tuesday after the Iowa Democratic Party deprived all candidates of bragging rights by mucking up the caucuses tally so no results were available as of Tuesday morning.

One of Bloomberg's main campaign platforms is gun control.

"I still can't figure out what happened", Bloomberg said to laughter.

Bloomberg's presidential campaign moved on Tuesday to exploit the chaotic outcome of the Iowa caucuses, escalating an already enormous campaign of television advertising and publicly making the case that a messy outcome in the early states opened the way for Mr. Bloomberg. Bloomberg said he will not be intimidated or deterred by insults.

"I've always been a fan of hers since back when she was Treasurer Raimondo ..."

The former mayor has bypassed early contest states like Iowa and New Hampshire and is focusing his initial efforts on the Super Tuesday states that will hold primaries on March 3, including Alabama.

California is the largest of the 14 states to vote on March 3, a date known as Super Tuesday, when almost a third of the 3,979 state delegates who select the Democratic nominee will be up for grabs. He has also provided them the ability expand his campaign's field staff to more than 2,000 people.

"Trans people were living openly in the Midwest long before Bloomberg woke up one morning and made a decision to start buying elections", Clymer tweeted Thursday, referring to the billionaire businessman's heavy spending on his presidential campaign. "We need to get behind somebody who is a fighter, who has a track record of getting things done, and who can win against Donald Trump", Raimondo told those on hand during a Wednesday campaign event at the Wexford building in Providence. "I came to see more about what his plans are", said Jesse Gomez, 18, a student at the community college in Fresno.
